Life in Pink (and sometimes Green) |
Not-so-newlywed and new mama living on the Chesapeake Bay settling into a life focusing on healthy living and fitness. I run marathons, do tons of yoga, I read, I write, I'm nerdy and adore JCrew, Vineyard Vines, lululemon, anything pink and most bad reality television. This blog? Mostly random thoughts, photos, and new mama musings. Warning: Expect cute baby pictures...often. Swooning may ensue.

Sure….now you sleep baby :( at least you’re cute :)
I celebrated my 30th birthday with sweet baby cuddles the only thing that could have made it better was if the husband hasn’t had drill weekend for the national guard. This isn’t the first birthday I’ve spent without him and I’m fairly certain it won’t be the last. But at least this year I’m not really alone :)
“The jewelry, on sale at the handmade marketplace Etsy, is definitely not for writer Ashley McCann, 34, in Naples, Fla. She nursed both her boys, 6 and 9, and loved it, but she feels some sort of gross-out line has been crossed.” (via New trend: Moms saving breast milk in jewelry | Fox News)
I would agree with this. I dunno, all these “mommy trends” seem to go a little too far. I get there’s health benefits with encapsulating your placenta but it’s kind of gross to me. Same with shellacing your breast milk. Or making soap out of your breast milk. Shit, that stuff is precious! I wouldn’t waste a damn drop of it!

(via Life in Pink) Trader Joes does it again by going for the assist with this left over heavy dish - NC Style BBQ Sauce over pre-cooked carnitas and sweet potatoes.
Nom.
spotted on facebook tonight.
So true. So very true. I napped, fed baby, changed a diaper, fed baby, read google reader, (repeated four times), cooked dinner of leftovers, fed baby, watched New Girl, fed baby, blogged and fed baby again.
The missed diapers in there were ones that hubs changed. The world of a new mom. Ain’t nobody got time for making shiz like that!
Pulled pork carnitas over baked sweet potato and black bean - stay tuned for the BBQ recipe on the blog!
I feel left out of this boys club :) ;)
Mama & baby cuddle time
Really bummed and frustrated that I feel like a bad hostess and thus why my family is leaving two days early tomorrow.
But really? I’m twelve days post-partum. They can’t really expect me to entertain them can they???
/end crazy, emotional, over analysis

Ethan celebrated his first Easter today with Nana (my mom), Auntie Shannon (my sister), Adam and myself – we had a glorious but easy to prepare dinner of Ham, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, Risotto, salad and an almond pastry from Trader Joes. He even wore a cute Easter onesie (the one from Carters above) from his Great Godmother (Adam’s Godmother – Aunt Mary) which he looked adorable in (but was not pleased when we put him in it – I’m pretty sure he’d rather be naked and wouldn’t be dressed at all if he had things his way). And many of those goodies were in his first Easter basket from Grandma & Grumpa (Adam’s parents) – a lovely, lovely treat.
Post feeding food coma… And yes I read my google reader when nursing… What of it?? ;)
